Who qualifies

You run a newsroom that publishes original reporting and is not owned by a media group.

  • You publish original reporting

    On any schedule, with at least one named editor or reporter on a public masthead.

  • You are independently owned

    A title owned by a media conglomerate or a holding company does not qualify.

  • Any country, any language

    We verify newsrooms anywhere and read mastheads in any language. Nonprofit and for-profit both qualify: your tax status is not the test.

Direct check

Send your site URL. We look for a public masthead with named staff, original reporting published in the last 90 days, and an ownership statement. A human reads it. We never automate a rejection, and we tell you what was missing if we say no.

  4. It renews on a fresh check

What does the sponsored plan actually change?

Do I need the grant to clean my site?
No. Install the free plugin and clean 3 files every 30 days, right now, without talking to us. The grant matters when a compromise is wide enough that 3 files does not cover it.
Is there a cap on cleanups under the grant?
No cap. Sponsored licenses run on the same unlimited quota a paying Pro site gets.
How many sites does one license cover?
One newsroom. Licenses carry a seat count, and we set yours when we approve the grant, so tell us how many sites you run. A main title plus a handful of section or event sites is the normal case and we size the grant for it.
What if my newsroom is not in any directory?

What happens when the grant ends?
